The findings highlight the existence of a structural surplus supported by production flexibility and advanced infrastructure, strengthening Algeria’s position as a reliable energy supplier, particularly amid the contraction of Russian gas supplies to Europe. The study further reveals a clear causal relationship between gas cycles and macroeconomic performance, whereby gas revenues contributed to improving the current account, rebuilding foreign exchange reserves, and maintaining low levels of external debt. At the geopolitical level, the strategic focus on key European markets enhanced Algeria’s bargaining power, despite concentration risks. The paper concludes that natural gas has evolved into a cornerstone of economic stability and sovereignty, necessitating the strategic transformation of gas rents into economic diversification that supports the energy transition and sustainable growth.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Brahim Bourenane , Benameure Otmani http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4487Complex Contracts and Their Impact on The Development of Islamic Banking Products 2026-01-30T15:02:17+00:00Abd Almajeed Al-Salahena.salaheen@yahoo.com
Islamic financial institutions, whether banks or financing institutions, are working hard to develop banking products that are consistent with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, with the aim of diversifying their financing and investment tools so that they can compete in the global banking market, which is dominated by traditional financial institutions, Composite contracts are among the most widely used principles by Islamic financial institutions to develop their banking products. The concept of combining contracts provides these institutions with multiple options to achieve their goal of expanding the scope of financing and investment instruments adopted by Islamic financial institutions to achieve their objectives.

This study aims to highlight the impact of complex contracts on the development of banking products in Islamic financial institutions, and to identify the most important products developed from the idea of contract construction. This study concluded that complex contracts have a significant impact on the development of Islamic banking products through the multiplicity and diversity of these products. The study pointed out the most important of them.

2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Abd Almajeed Al-Salahenhttp://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4488Dynamic Linkage between Oil Revenue Fluctuations and Real Economic Growth in Iraq (1992–2024): An ECM-Based Analysis2026-01-30T15:02:15+00:00Amer Shebl Zayaamer_zaia@yahoo.com
This study aims to analyze the dynamic coupling between oil revenues and real economic growth in Iraq over the period 1992–2024, using an Error Correction Model (ECM) derived from the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework. The bounds test results indicate the existence of cointegration among the variables, confirming a stable long-run equilibrium relationship. The estimates reveal that oil revenues constitute the most influential determinant of real growth, as a 1% increase in oil revenues leads to a 1.19% rise in real economic growth. The ECM coefficient further indicates a strong adjustment mechanism, correcting 51.9% of short-run disequilibria within an adjustment period of nearly two years.

Additionally, the findings show that fiscal deficits exert a negative impact on real growth, with long- and short-run elasticities of –0.02% and –0.03%, respectively. Meanwhile, the effects of the real exchange rate, inflation, and the dummy variable remain limited. The study underscores the rent-dependent structure and high vulnerability of the Iraqi economy to oil shocks, alongside the weakness of its non-oil productive base. It therefore recommends enhancing economic diversification and improving fiscal management.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Amer Shebl Zayahttp://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4489Testing Wagner's Law to determine the cause of increased public spending in Algeria for the period 1990-2024, focusing on the Goffman & Musgrave formulas.2026-01-30T15:02:14+00:00Rachid CHEBBAH rachidchebbah@univ-tiaret.dz
In this study, we attempted to explain the increase in public spending in Algeria by testing the validity of Wagner's well-known law on Algerian economic data during the period 1990-2024. (It should be noted that the data related to public spending for the years 2022 to 2024 are estimates from the Ministry of Finance and are not final, as their results are subject to budget control laws.) Our objective in this study was limited to verifying the validity of this law through the Goffman and Musgrave formulas, which are among the most important formulas for demonstrating the validity of Wagner's law. Therefore, we used econometric methods, where we measured the causal relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Public Spending (EXP). We then used cointegration testing and the Error Correction Model (ECM). The results showed that Wagner's law was confirmed by both formulas. According to Goffman's formula, a one-unit increase in GDP corresponds to a 4.132-unit increase in absolute public spending. Similarly, Musgrave's formula indicates that a one-unit increase in GDP leads to a corresponding increase in absolute public spending. Government spending increased by 1.0331 units.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Rachid CHEBBAH http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4490The Role of Higher Education Institutions in Fostering Green Entrepreneurship: International Experiences, Opportunities, and Challenges2026-01-30T15:02:12+00:00Zinelaabidine touidjini zinelaabidine.touidjeni@univ-constantine2.dzSamir mehiaddine Samir.mehieddine@univ-jijel.dz
This paper analyzes the pivotal role of higher education institutions in promoting green entrepreneurship and facilitating the transition toward a sustainable economy. Adopting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the study synthesizes and examines leading research addressing the nexus between higher education and green entrepreneurship. The findings indicate that universities significantly contribute to developing a sustainable entrepreneurial culture through sustainability-oriented education, applied research, and the formation of innovation and academic entrepreneurship ecosystems. The “Triple Helix” interaction (university–industry–government) is identified as the core institutional framework fostering green innovation. Comparative insights from China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Europe reveal effective policy, financial, and educational mechanisms that stimulate green entrepreneurship. However, persistent challenges—such as limited funding, entrepreneurial skill gaps, and policy implementation barriers—highlight the need for deeper institutional integration to achieve a truly sustainable green economy.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Zinelaabidine touidjini , Samir mehiaddine http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4491The Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Development of Islamic Banking Services and Operations: - Current Reality and Future Aspirations-2026-01-30T15:02:11+00:00Mahmoud Benzerrouki benzarouki.mahmoud@univ-emir.dz
This study aims to examine how Islamic banks employ artificial intelligence technologies and addresses a core research question concerning the ways in which these institutions can utilize AI to improve the quality of their services and financial operations while remaining fully aligned with Shariah principles. The study outlines foundational concepts related to artificial intelligence, highlights major challenges that limit optimal implementation, and explores future prospects that could support deeper technological integration. The findings indicate that current artificial intelligence applications in Islamic banking are still limited due to legal, technical, and regulatory constraints, yet these obstacles can be addressed through a comprehensive governance framework that promotes responsible adoption. The study also emphasizes the importance of continuously upgrading the digital infrastructure and recommends analyzing real-world experiences of Islamic banks that have implemented advanced AI tools to assess their effectiveness and derive models appropriate for the Islamic banking context and ensure sustainable growth.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Mahmoud Benzerrouki http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4494Investigating the Role of Mergers and Acquisitions in Shaping the Financial Performance of Nepalese Commercial Banks2026-01-30T15:02:09+00:00Padam Bahadur Lama padam.lama@smc.tu.edu.npPrem Bahadur Budhathokiprem.budhathoki@mahmc.tu.edu.npSamjhana Thapasamjhanathapa9815@gmail.com
This research paper examined the impact of mergers and acquisitions on the financial performance of Nepalese commercial banks. The study embraced the secondary data of 6 commercial banks and overall, the 60 observations were comprised in this study. The study employed descriptive research design and casual comparative research design. This study employed descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression for the analysis of data. The findings revealed that the EPS and CRR were positively and significantly associated with return on equity (ROE) which indicates that an increase in earnings per share and cash reserve ratio leads to an increase in profitability. In contrast, NPLR, CAR, and CDR found a negative relationship with ROE, which indicates that an increase in the non-performing loan ratio, capital adequacy ratio, and credit-to-deposit ratio leads to a decrease in profitability. Similarly, BS holds a weak positive relationship with ROE.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Padam Bahadur Lama , Prem Bahadur Budhathoki, Samjhana Thapahttp://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4495Corporate Social Responsibility in the Algerian Petroleum Industry: Case Study SONATRACH2026-01-30T15:02:08+00:00Moustafa Tebib tebib.mostapha@univ-oaurgla.dzMohamed Barka barka3066@gmail.com
The study highlighted the key dimensions of social responsibility adopted by SONATRACH as one of the leading companies in the Algerian petroleum industry. Empirical Evidence from Algeria Using the ARDL Approach 2026-01-30T15:02:07+00:00Mounir KHATOUIkhatoui.mounir@univ-ghardaia.edu.dz
This study seeks to examine the impact of remittances on economic growth in Algeria over the period 1980-2023 using the ARDL model to estimate both short and long run effects of remittances on economic growth, including important control variables such as fixed capital formation, inflation, and oil prices. In the long run, remittances had a negative and statistically insignificant effect on economic growth, with only a limited short run effect, this reflects the dominance of consumption-driven uses of remittances and the significant proportion that are transferred through informal channels due to the disparity between parallel and official exchange rates, while capital formation had a strong positive and significant effect. Conversely, inflation and oil prices showed a negative and significant correlation with economic growth in the long run. The study thus concluded that remittances are ineffective in promoting economic growth in Algeria over both the short and long term and called for policy measures aimed at reducing the wedge between parallel and official exchange rates to reduce informal transfers, strengthening formal financial channels, and improving the investment climate to stimulate the productive use of remittances in support of sustainable economic growth.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Mounir KHATOUIhttp://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4497Specificities of Business Model Canvas for ecotourism startups2026-01-30T15:02:05+00:00Mohammed Ridha Boucenna boucenna.med.ridha@univ-oeb.dzLaid Korichi laid.korichi@univ-jijel.dz
This study aimed to analyze the specific characteristics of a business model canvas (BMC) in ecotourism. A descriptive approach was used to identify the characteristics of ecotourism industry, and the requirements for implementing the BMC by ecotourism entrepreneurs.

The study concluded that ecotourism relies primarily on the need to preserve and maintain natural resources in host tourist areas. Preserve the culture and lifestyle of the local population. Provide sources of revenue for local residents, and create enjoyment for visitors. The study also concluded that applying the BMC model to express the activity of institutions operating in ecotourism must take into account the specifics of these institutions' activities, in terms of the process of creating value for them and their customers, as well as the nature of the primary resources they require for their activities, especially given their limited capabilities. Therefore, the study recommended the importance of providing training courses in the field of management and entrepreneurial skills for ecotourism entrepreneurs by local tourism sector supervisors, either through their own capabilities or through partnerships with governmental and even private business incubators.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Mohammed Ridha Boucenna , Laid Korichi http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4499The Valorization of Agroforestry Products: The Case of Truffe An Organizational Innovation Linking Geography, Space, and the Global Economy in Algeria2026-01-30T15:02:04+00:00Souhila Kirat souhila.kirat@univ-jijel.dzMounir Louadj m.louadj@univ-jijel.dz
In the Steppe, the intervention of public authorities through various strategies for the protection and rehabilitation of this area has failed and often contributes to the worsening of its degradation. Today, the situation of this area remains concerning, and achieving the objectives is still confronted with significant constraints, the most important of which remain the organization of agro-pastoralists and the inability of the specific steppe administration to solve the problems of this area. In this article, using a historical and descriptive analysis method, we attempt to analyze these constraints, with a theoretical section and a case study of the truffle as a typical product of the Algerian Steppe, proposing the promotion of local agroforestry products as a future perspective for organizing actors, revitalizing these areas, while taking into account the history and community aspects that continue to support Algerian society. particularly in rural areas.
2026-01-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Souhila Kirat , Mounir Louadj http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/4500Exploring the relationship between IT Alignment and Digital Transformation: a systematic literature review2026-01-30T15:02:21+00:00Mohamed TAIEB-ERRAHMANI m.taieberrahmani@outlook.frAli BOUHANNA bouhanaali62@gmail.com
This paper seeks to review and synthesize the literature that investigates the relationship between strategic IT alignment and organizational digital transformation published between 2015 and 2025, using the PRISMA 2020 methodology. Analysis indicates that these two concepts are highly interdependent. IT alignment acts as both a precursor and a facilitator in successful digital transformation processes, while the chance of success is highly dependent on the prevailing IT governance maturity in an organization. This dynamic relationship calls for continuous adaptation since different organizational contexts critically affect the outcomes. Although there is meaningful insight from established theoretical frameworks, substantial research gaps can be identified. These findings therefore indicate further longitudinal studies that are sector-specific in enhancing understanding. To practitioners, resultant insights underline the critical need to develop coherent, integrated strategies where the use of digital transformation initiatives secures continued competitive advantage. An organization should, hence, align investments in technology with business objectives but with strong governance structures in place to ensure the effectiveness of transformation and long-term value creation within organizations.
2026-01-29T20:41:34+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Mohamed TAIEB-ERRAHMANI , Ali BOUHANNA
