The data was collected from the reports of the Bank of Algeria. With the adoption of three asset quality indicators (non-performing loans net of provisions to capital ratio NPL1 and the rate of non-performing loans ratio NPL2) according to the International Monetary Fund’s financial soundness indicators guide, and the indicator (the rate of non-performing loan provisions ratio NPLP) used by the Bank of Algeria), methods were used. Descriptive statistics to determine the mean, the maximum and minimum values of the indicators, and inferential statistics methods (t-test) to determine the differences between the average asset quality indicators of public banks and private banks. It was found that there are statistically significant differences for the (NPL1) indicator and the (NPL2) indicator between public banks and private banks and in favor of public banks, which means that they are more financially stable than their private counterparts, while there are no statistically significant differences for the NPLP indicator between public banks and private banks. As a conclusion, public and private banks have assets of acceptable quality.
Abdelkader BADENE , Boulerbah BOUKHARI Copyright (c) 2024 Abdelkader BADENE , بولرباح بولرباح https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3931 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 An Econometric Study of The Impact of Agricultural Exports and Imports on Real GDP in Algeria During the Period (1990-2022) http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3895
The study addressed the impact of agricultural imports and agricultural exports on Algeria's economic growth during the period 1990-2022 using Bounds testing approaches for the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) methodology, where a standard model of real GDP was built as a function of the two independent variables (agricultural exports and agricultural imports), and the study concluded that there is a significant inverse relationship between agricultural exports and real GDP; which reflects the weak contribution of agricultural production in the formation of GDP, and a direct relationship between agricultural imports and GDP.

The study found a dynamic short-term relationship where the speed of adjustment to equilibrium in the long run was 9.4% (about 10 years and 7 months).
Chafik BOUBERRIMA , Yassine MOSTEFAI Copyright (c) 2024 شفيق بوبريمة , Yassine MOSTEFAI https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3895 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Economic freedom in Algeria and its role in attracting foreign direct investment http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3896
This study aims to highlight the role of economic freedom in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in Algeria. It utilizes four international indices that measure various aspects of economic freedom and assess the suitability of the business climate for investment by analyzing Algeria's performance in these indices. The study finds that the volume of FDI flows is positively correlated with the degree of economic freedom. This is because economic freedom provides a favorable, stimulating, and encouraging environment for investors and companies to invest their money in the economy. Algeria's performance has been weak in most of the indices, indicating that it suffers from a low level of economic freedom. This reflects an investment climate that is not qualified to business operations and discourages FDI, with restrictions that limit economic activity and the freedom of individuals and companies to conduct their business
Anter KAHLAT , Kamel CHERAYETT Copyright (c) 2024 Anter KAHLAT , Kamel CHERAYETT https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3896 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 The level of outsourcing adoption in Algerian commanding institutions - an exploratory study in the Tlemcen region http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3898
The study aims to know the level of dependence on outsourcing activity for the subcontractor. To achieve this, we conducted a survey distributed to a sample of the company's employees. The study revealed that all components of organizational culture values were at a moderate level, and a positive level of organizational commitment among its employees. Through the study, we identified a statistically significant correlation between the two variables, furthermore the study, utilizing gradual regression analysis (stepwise), identified that only two values, namely efficiency and strength, significantly influenced organizational commitment. Conversely, the remaining values (favoritism, reward, order, effectiveness, teamwork, and justice) showed no significant impact.
Cherifa BOUSAID1, Rais MERRAD Copyright (c) 2024 Cherifa BOUSAID1, Rais MERRAD https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3899 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Using Artificial Neural Network Model to Forecast the Electricity Consumption in Algeria http://journals.lagh-univ.dz/index.php/djei/article/view/3900
Recent events, especially the Russian-Ukrainian War have demonstrated the significance of energy resource, which is generally regarded as one of the most fundamental components of global economies and is classified as a strategic component of economic development. In this study, we employed the artificial neural networks to predict the electricity consumption of Algeria using annual data 1980 to 2022.
