The symbolism of tattoos for women in the Tiaret region between treatment and beautification
Abstract
Tattoos are among the practices that ancient societies have known, and the weather has been associated with many beliefs that have developed through various stages, and the weather continues to this day in many regions of Algeria, including the region of Tiaret where tattoos are spread, and the countryside or the Badia was the gateway to practice This ritual and from it his practice moved to the city, and there is a spread in the region especially among the feminist milieu, where the goals differ between them behind this practice. Tattoos in the region have been associated with the goals of ornamentation and beauty of the women in the movement, as it had preventive functions, given that the tattoo may protect against some diseases, i.e. belief in the power of magic tattoos in the face of diseases, especially those related to magic, the eye, etc. .., and these goals can be considered a reason The practice of tattooing remains in the region and does not disappear despite the decline in the practice of this weather today .. Also, tattooing in the region is characterized by the multiplicity of its forms and drawings, as well as the multiplicity of areas drawn in the body .. Accordingly, tattooing in the region can be considered an anthropological code that expresses the woman's being and its natural and cultural presence.
