Abstract
If the arts of literature and history have received great attention from critics and scholars, and studies were written in them and letters and theses were prepared on them, there are other arts, despite the literature written in them and the studies that have been completed around them that remain often marginalized, and in dire need of more effort and study.The trip is a shift in place and time, and an internal journey in the thought of its owner, his knowledge and his attitude towards life and existence, and his view of people and society, as the ways of writing trips differ according to the culture of the traveler - the writer - and his perception, and the place, time and type of the trip.
This article is concerned with observing one of the Algerians' travels, namely, Hajj Ibn al-Din, the Aghouati traveler who authored the manuscript of the Aghouti's Journey, Hajj Ibn al-Din in North Africa, Sudan and Diriyah. Saad Allah (may God have mercy on him) into Arabic,This trip contains regional geographic information in the period between 1825-1829 AD, and most of the cities and peoples of North Africa, especially the Laghouat region, are not well known during this period, and no European traveler mentioned it before.
The book, which dates back to an Arabic manuscript written in Moroccan script, and is about fourteen pages in length, contains a description of the various countries and places by Hajj Ibn al-Din al-Aghouti, especially the region of Laghouat. The importance of the trip is reflected in the fact that it is a historical text that combines social, economic, geographic, dynastic, and linguistic facts about the Laghouat region and other North African cities. This study aspires to highlight the most important source literature that was written about the history of the Laghouat region, and to pay attention to the local history of Algeria, through the investigation of historical manuscripts in the medieval and modern periods or concerned with the science of the biographies of the flags of the region of Laghouat.
