Psychological Problems in Children and Their Remedies from the Perspective of Islamic Law
Abstract
Islamic law has established a comprehensive system of legislation that safeguards the rights of the child at every stage of life, beginning even before birth while the child is still a fetus in the mother's womb. It recognizes and protects these rights from the earliest stages of human existence, reflecting the paramount importance it attaches to childhood as a decisive period in the formation of personality and the development of future generations. Childhood is one of the most critical stages of human development, as its physical, psychological, moral, and social dimensions have a lasting impact on an individual's future.
In the contemporary world, children are increasingly vulnerable to a wide range of influences and challenges that may jeopardize their well-being and healthy development. Among the most serious of these are psychological problems, which can undermine their emotional stability and impede their normal growth. Islamic law has given due consideration to this dimension, recognizing that psychological well-being is an indispensable component of human welfare and a matter that concerns all societies without exception. Accordingly, it has laid down a set of principles, values, and legal provisions designed to protect children from psychological harm, promote their mental well-being, and ensure their balanced personal and social development.
