The Doctrinal Transformation in the Maghreb and al-Andalus in the Post-Almohad Era
Abstract
This paper aims to shed light on the doctrine transformation of the people of Western Maghreb and Al-Andalus after the appearance of the call of Mehdi Ben Tumart and the establishment of al-Muwwahidun state. There has been a radical change in the region during this period, the history books testify this. Al-Muwwahidun state was built on the rubble of Al-Murabitun state, as for Al-Andalus, it was established after the conquest of Umayyad Caliphate in Damascus, then, the Umayyads settled in there after the establishment of the Abbasid state in the East, that was led by Abdul Rahman El-Dakhel - Quraysh falcon -, after the eradication of the Umayyad Caliphate, it was divided into more than twenty mini-state, that was known as “The era of Taifa”, until the Al-Murabitun then Al-Muwwahidun eliminated them definitively. These two states were ruled the regions of Western Maghreb and Al-Andalus. This paper attempted to address the doctrine transformation of the people of Western Maghreb and Al-Andalus after the appearance of the call of Mehdi Ben Tumart, the founder of Al-Muwwahidun state.
