Oral naming disorders as consequences of neurological disorder (Comparative study between aphasia and Alzheimer's)

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate verbal naming disorders in people with aphasia and Alzheimer's, by applying Joël Macoir's 60DO oral naming test, and which we have adapted to the Algerian environment. The sample included 18 cases with neurological disorders (aphasia / Alzheimer's disease) aged 40 to 85 of both sexes.

The results of the statistical analysis showed that there are no statistically significant differences in quantitative terms in terms of correct response rates in aphasia and Alzheimer's, as the correct responses for cases of aphasia are approximately equal to the correct answers for Alzheimer's cases. As for the types of errors, there are differences in terms of the nature of the errors, which differ according to the type of disorder.
