Abstract

This study aims to know the extent of contribution by the intellectual elite in the
actualization of social development from university teacher’s point of view. The results of
this study revealed that university teachers as sophisticated elite they contribute to social
development to an average level. These contributions appear in exchanging social roles
like voluntary works. In addition, they contribute to social awareness such as healthy and
environmental awareness and adopting positive ideas.
