Abstract

This study attempts to investigate the relationship between the problem of underdeveloped neighborhoods as an infrastructure that produces individual and group interactions and behaviors. And between the social identity of the inhabitants of these backward neighborhoods in Algerian society. And the resulting meanings and common experiences in the behavior of individuals and groups of underdeveloped neighborhoods, which ultimately give the characteristics of their inhabitants and form their affiliations and awareness of them or not. Which makes it easier for us to analyze, interpret and understand the variables and factors that determine the concept of social identity and its formation from its fragmentation among the backward neighborhoods of the city of Biskra, and the various crises that individuals and groups of tin neighborhoods suffer from. Without isolating these facts from the socio-cultural transformations and stages of urban development that Algerian society has undergone in the light of the sustainable development strategy.
