Abstract

National movements are characterized by the fact that each movement has an intellectual (ideological) background from which it was launched, and this background affects perceptions and views on the type of culture that should prevail in Algerian society. The project made efforts to revive the national culture, and on this basis this paper comes as an attempt to identify the methods and components of the colonial cultural project in an attempt to obliterate the Algerian national character, based on the following questions: - What led the national movement to reject the French cultural project and replace it with a national educational project? To what extent did each movement try to incorporate the national educational dimension into its cultural project? Does the political project include these dimensions, especially the educational contents?
