The problem of cognitive abstinence among faculty members at the Algerian University: a field study on a sample of professors at Constantine universities
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the causes of cognitive abstinence among faculty members and to identify its manifestations. To achieve this goal, the questionnaire tool was used to survey the opinions of the sample of the study represented by the faculty of Constantine Universities 1.2.3, The SPSS statistical analysis program was used to analyze and interpret data, and the results of the study showed a number of results, the most important of which were:
Cognitive abstinence is available among the faculty at Constantine Universities 1, 2 and 3 to a high degree
There are many factors and reasons that led to the emergence of the phenomenon of cognitive abstinence among faculty, perhaps the most important of which are: fear of losing a certain advantage, poor documentation of implicit knowledge as well as the spread of a culture of hindering cognitive sharing among researchers
There are a range of mechanisms to reduce the phenomenon of cognitive abstinence, the most important of which are: encouraging teamwork and localizing the culture of cognitive sharing among faculty members.
