The criteria for choosing the life partner of the Palestinian youth in Tulkarem District
Abstract
The study used the descriptive method with a sample of (500) young men and women, between the age of 20-40 years, and
using the questionnaire as a tool to collect information related to the study. The findings are: the marital status of the life
partner of both genders is single. The most suitable age for a male life partner is five years younger, and for females, five years
older. Both sexes prefer the partner not to be from his/her relatives. The preferred place of residence for a life partner is the
original place of residence. The best way to choose a life partner is by himself/herself. The basic foundation for choosing a life
partner is his/her objective view. The most important characteristics of a good partner are morality and honesty. The trait
which is hated is lying. The preferred educational level for a life partner is the bachelor degree
