Average of Pupils in Continuous Evaluation and its Relationship to their Grades in the Examination for Middle School Education Certificate

Abstract

This study has dealt with the relationship between the average of pupils in the continuous evaluation and their results
in the examination for MiddleSchool Education Certificate, In order to answer the research questions, the sample results in the
continuous evaluation and the examination for Middle School Education Certificate were analyzed in subjects: mathematics,
natural sciences and life, physical sciences and technology, Arabic, French, English, history and geography. These are the most
important results: there is a positive correlation between the average of pupils in the continuous evaluation and their results in
the examination for Middle School Education Certificate. There is an inflation in pupils’ average in the continuous evaluation
compared to their results in the examination for Middle School Education Certificate in subjects: Maths, natural Science and
life, French and English. In addition, there are statistically significant differences between the means of pupils’ average in the
continuous evaluation and that of their grades in the examination for Middle School Education Certificate.
