Abstract

Changes in marital regimes are observed all over the world and particularly in the developing world. The average age at first marriage has gained nearly ten years between 1966, the date of the first census, and the last census carried out in 2008 for men, the gain is greater for women during the same period. Surveys carried out since 1992 show that the higher the level of education, the later the age at first marriage. Economic factors influence the entry into first marriage, the absence of income or its insufficiency prevents many people from marrying, particularly men who must provide for the needs of the family.
