Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the concept and practice of citizenship as a cultural and
human dimension in contemporary societies, The study also aims to define the importance of
citizenship in social life, its dimensions, images and elements to achieve it, without
overlooking the theoretical foundations of the concept.
The most important references to the concept have been dropped on the reality of the
Maghreb, which is fraught with various ambiguities and peculiarities, may be compatible in
some of its molecules, and may differ with the requirements of contemporary citizenship.
