Abstract

The environment is the sum of the elements with complex relationships that constitute the framework, medium and conditions of human life. The urban growth of the Algerian cities led to the concentration of a huge number of the population in the cities. Today, more than ever, it faces serious challenges with regard to the quality of the urban environment; Today, we are facing multiple preparation options, all of which are consistent with achieving economic, social and urban growth. But it still turns a blind eye to environmental problems, considering it an additional aspect, whether in the short or long term on the one hand; On the other hand, balancing these trends, which may seem divergent, can only be achieved by taking the environmental component into account in urban planning in a way that allows urban growth in balance with the surroundings within the framework of a sustainable development plan for the city.
