The role of the social worker in caring for patients with chronic diseases

Abstract

Medical social services play a great role in the process of ensuring patients with chronic diseases in providing them with resolving their problems and satisfying their medical needs, and this is evident through the application of medical social care programs and their support to reach the optimal treatment as a result of joint work between the doctor, the nursing staff, the psychologist and the social worker.

The latter, which is the 'social worker', lies his role in doing any achievement or administrative achievement to accept people with medical centers and to carry out investigations and aspirations about the social conditions of the pathological condition and a visit to the people to spread awareness and health culture to prevent diseases, educate them, transfer external information and enrich the medical group with the necessary information the contribution to social sponsorship of patients.
