Executives Concept and Roles
Abstract
Who Are Executives and what are their roles? The concept of executives has faced numerous difficulties in definition, much like other concepts commonly used in sociology. These difficulties arise from the nature of the concept itself, as well as the temporal and spatial contexts in which it has emerged. Additionally, the methodological approaches to studying this concept are often marked by a lack of adherence to the principles of scientific methodology. However, the term "executives" generally refers to those individuals with advanced scientific training, high competence, and skills that enable them to occupy significant positions within an organization. These positions provide them the opportunity to make important decisions, distinguishing them from others and granting them a special significance due to their ability to innovate, create, and improve. Their objectives are often distinct, particularly in their capacity to lead change, address complex and unforeseen problems, and proactively identify areas of deficiency. As such, the role of executives is multifaceted and complex, encompassing planning, oversight, support, problem-solving, leadership, development, organization, and more. This study is a modest attempt to shed light on some of these aspects.
