A proposed Scenario for Establishing Academic Advising Centers in Algerian university in light of International Experiences
Abstract
Founding academic counseling centers in universities is considered important; Guidance and counseling are some of the fundamental services needed by the individual and the groups in the university community, in order to help meet the requirements of psychological, educational, social and cultural adjustment imposed by the enormous changes in the field of technology and information revolution in our time.
These centers prepare, develop and plan counseling services programs for all students and staff at the university. In this paper, we will present in detail the definition of the concept of academic guidance, its objectives and its importance within the university. We will also present a proposed model for the establishment of academic guidance centers at the Algerian University in accordance with international experience and experiences, where we chose the experience of universities in the United States of America as a model.
