Abstract

It is self-evident to say that the financial markets in the world are the center of economic gravity, because of what these markets carry of “urgent” and “forward” financial operations that determine the level of growth and investment in all countries of the world, and one of the most important of these urgent financial operations is “short selling” Which market makers and major investors considered the best solution to enhance their financial gains during the financial market downturn, but short selling did not receive this wide interest by Western economists because it achieves financial gains only, but the legal and economic controversy caused by short selling after the global economic crisis year 2008 AD was the main reason for it to become one of the priorities of foreign governments in their economic agenda
