Mission and Scope

The Journal of Science and Knowledge Horizons (JSKP) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarship at the intersection of Islamic Sciences and Interdisciplinary Humanities. Published biannually by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Civilization at the University of Laghouat, JSKP fosters global academic dialogue on Islam and modernity, bridging Islamic intellectual heritage with contemporary perspectives in the humanities and social sciences.

Research Focus

JSKP publishes theoretically informed, methodologically sound research that:

• Employs comparative analysis or genuinely interdisciplinary frameworks
• Uses innovative or critical methodologies in studying Islamic texts, history, culture, and societies
• Engages with contemporary challenges such as globalization, religious diversity, identity, ethics, and public policy
• Explores intersections between Islamic and secular systems (law, education, media, digital cultures)
• Contributes original insights to international scholarly debates

Purely descriptive or non-analytical work falls outside the journal's scope.

5. Interdisciplinary and Applied Humanities

   • Health humanities (autism, mental health, adolescent health) – only from humanistic, social, or ethical perspectives, not from clinical or biomedical approaches

Scope Exclusions

JSKP does not accept submissions in the following categories:

• Clinical trials or biomedical experiments
• Animal studies or research
• Purely clinical or medical research (even if related to health topics)

These areas fall outside the journal's disciplinary focus on humanities and social sciences. For health-related topics, submissions must approach the subject from humanistic, social, ethical, or educational perspectives rather than from clinical or laboratory frameworks.

Quality and Editorial Standards

All manuscripts undergo rigorous evaluation to ensure:

• Academic Rigor: Manuscripts are assessed for theoretical contribution, methodological soundness, and scholarly significance
• International Standards: The journal adheres to international publishing ethics and best practices, including those outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)
• Double-Blind Review: Author and reviewer identities are concealed throughout the review process to ensure impartiality
• Transparency: All editorial decisions are documented, and appeals are handled according to established procedures

Author Guidelines and Policies

Authors submitting to JSKP must:

• Adhere to the journal's Authorship Policy (based on ICMJE criteria)
• Follow the journal's Publishing Ethics and Integrity Statement
• Comply with the Author Guidelines, including formatting, reference style (APA 7th Edition), and disclosure requirements
• Disclose any conflicts of interest and funding sources
• Ensure originality and proper attribution of sources

All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin and Detectia before and after peer review.
