Journal of Science and Knowledge Horizons (JSKP)

JSKP follows the authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), adapted to the humanities and social sciences context of the journal.

1. Criteria for Authorship
An individual should be credited as an author only if they meet all of the following conditions:

• Made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
• Drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
• Approved the final version to be published;
• Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of it are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet all four criteria (e.g., general supervision, funding acquisition alone, technical or language editing, data collection without analytical input) should be listed in the Acknowledgments section rather than as authors.

2. Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for:

• Ensuring that all listed co-authors meet the authorship criteria above;
• Confirming that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript prior to submission;
• Serving as the primary point of contact with the editorial office throughout submission, review, and publication;
• Managing all communication regarding revisions, proofs, and post-publication matters.

3. Order of Authors
The order of authors should reflect the relative contribution of each individual to the work, as agreed upon by all co-authors before submission. The final author list and order must be provided at the time of original submission.

4. Changes in Authorship

Before acceptance: Any addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors is permitted only before the manuscript is accepted for publication, and requires:

• A written explanation for the change addressed to the editor;
• Written confirmation of agreement from all authors, including any author being added or removed.

After acceptance: Changes in authorship after acceptance are considered only in exceptional circumstances. Publication of the manuscript will be suspended while the editor reviews the request. If the article has already been published online, any approved change will be issued as a formal correction linked to the original article.

5. Disputes over Authorship
Authorship disputes are the responsibility of the authors to resolve. JSKP does not adjudicate on the relative contribution of individual authors but may request written confirmation from all parties before proceeding with any requested change. Unresolved disputes may result in suspension of the review or publication process until settled.

6. Use of AI Tools
Artificial intelligence tools and technologies do not qualify for authorship, as authorship entails accountability and responsibilities that only humans can fulfill. Any use of AI in the writing or preparation of the manuscript must be disclosed in a dedicated statement  see Publication Ethics .

7. Acknowledgment of Non-Author Contributors
Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria — including funders, institutions, or individuals providing technical, administrative, or language support — should be named in an Acknowledgments section, with their written permission where required.
