Abstract

We present a deconstructive overview of the gender of the portrait journalist, because of its place and importance in the body of contemporary media; What is semiotic-visual meets what is audio-readable. The model in our hands combined the iconic, plastic and linguistic sign, to present its news and artistic material to the Arab reader.

We try to present a brief card, in terms of: definition, origin, structure, type and distinctive characteristics, mixing theoretical and applied data through a portrait of the Jordanian journalist Ghazi An'im about the late Muslim calligrapher Hamid Amadi. We hope to enlighten the Arab reader and draw attention to this type of journalism, which is not outside the circle of the image revolution currently, along with linguistics as two discourses that go hand in hand.
