Published biannually (June & December) by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Civilization at the University of Laghouat, Algeria, JSKP serves as a critical platform for rigorous scholarship that bridges Islamic intellectual heritage with contemporary perspectives in the humanities and social sciences.

To foster global academic dialogue on Islam and modernity, comparative ethics, civilization studies, and the role of Islamic thought in addressing contemporary social, cultural, and political challenges. JSKP's core mission is to advance knowledge by publishing theoretically informed and methodologically sound research. It particularly encourages comparative and interdisciplinary approaches that place Islamic studies in conversation with other intellectual traditions. The journal provides a dedicated space for scholarship emerging from diverse geographical contexts, promoting a more inclusive global academic exchange.

We Seek Research That:

  • Employs comparative analysis or genuinely interdisciplinary frameworks.

  • Uses innovative or critical methodologies in studying Islamic texts, history, culture, and societies.

  • Engages with contemporary challenges such as globalization, religious diversity, identity, ethics, and public policy in Muslim-majority and minority contexts.

  • Explores intersections between Sharia and secular legal systems, Islamic and modern educational paradigms, or religion and media/digital cultures.

  • Conversely, purely descriptive or non-analytical work falls outside our scope.

Primary Disciplines Include:

  • Islamic Core Sciences: Qur'anic Exegesis (Tafsir), Hadith, Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Theology (Aqidah/Kalam).

  • Civilizational & Comparative Studies: Islamic Thought and Civilization, Islamic and Comparative Philosophy & Ethics, Islamic Arts, Architecture, and Archaeology.

  • Interdisciplinary Social Sciences & Humanities: Social and Anthropological Studies of Muslim Societies; Education in Islamic Contexts; Islamic Law, Politics, and Economics; Religion, Media, and Communication Studies.

Languages & Accessibility:
Submissions in English, Arabic, and French are welcome. To ensure global reach, every manuscript must include a detailed structured abstract in English (minimum 300 words) that clearly articulates the research problem, methodology, and its original contribution to international scholarship."
