Abstract

Despite what the tribal regime in Algeria constitutes a real historical heritage, it contributed to obstructing the development process in decisive historical periods, it was absorbed and integrated into the changing currents to obtain the greatest strength and strength in favor of the country and society, but the reactions were strong against any attempt to change But with the modern period, the unremitting policy of the Turks was widespread for three centuries, as they used the policy of discrimination between the tribes and fighting any unity between them, such as the tribal leaders sought to preserve their privileges away from the interest of society, and in return, Europe, which knew a rapid development, was imposed Its strength on countries and other societies.

      Our research aims to reveal the nature of the Ottoman regime in Algeria, its policy towards the tribes, and the policy of backwardness that affected the future of Algeria according to an analytical historical approach.
