Manifestations of poetry and its functions in the modern Arabic Maqama, Maqamat al-Yaziji as a model.
Abstract
This article deals with the issue of the presence of poetry in the modern Arabic maqama, and attempts to highlight its manifestations in the maqamat texts of the Lebanese writer Nassif al-Yazji, which are not devoid of poetic employment. It also attempts to reveal the functions performed by poetry within the maqama genre, so that al-Yazji's evocation of poetic texts went beyond the imagination and entertainment of the deliberative and persuasive character of Western society
