The impact of digital proliferation on public health among Palestinian youth in Tulkarm Governorate A field study of a sample of young people in the State of Palestine

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the impact of digital rumors on the mental health of Palestinian youth in Tulkarm Governorate. The descriptive correlational method and a questionnaire were used, with a sample size was 450 respondents. The main findings indicated that the impact of digital rumors on the mental health of Palestinian youth in Tulkarm Governorate from their perspective is high, with an overall average response rate of 82.35% across all items. The results also showed differences attributed to the variables of gender and age, while no differences were found related to marital status. Based on the findings, several recommendations were made, including raising awareness of the risks of digital rumors and their impact on mental health, and providing psychological and social support to individuals affected by digital rumors through referral to available mental health support centers.
