Policy on Generative Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Technologies

In accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and international indexing best practices, Dirassat Journal Economic Issue (DJEI) implements the following policy regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence and AI-assisted tools in scientific research:

1. Ineligibility for Authorship:
Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or similar large language models) cannot be listed or cited as authors or co-authors. Authorship requires academic accountability, ethical integrity, and legal responsibility for the submitted work, which can only be attributed to human researchers.

2. Permitted Use and Mandatory Disclosure:
Authors are permitted to utilize AI technologies strictly to improve readability, correct grammatical structures, or format programming code. If any generative AI tool is used, authors are strictly required to include a formal declaration statement at the end of the manuscript, immediately preceding the References section, formatted as follows:

"Declaration: The author(s) utilized [Tool Name, Version, Organization] during the preparation of this manuscript for the purpose of [improving language readability / code formatting]. The author(s) conducted a full review and critical validation of the output and take full responsibility for the entire content and factual integrity of the manuscript."

3. Scientific Rigor and Human Accountability:
Authors remain solely responsible for the authenticity of the research, the empirical findings, and the validity of all citations. The inclusion of fabricated citations, distorted references, or unverified factual claims resulting from AI hallucination constitutes a direct violation of academic integrity and publication ethics.

4. Reviewer and Editorial Confidentiality:
Peer reviewers and editorial board members are strictly prohibited from uploading submitted manuscripts, datasets, or abstracts into AI tools or external servers during the evaluation process. This ensures full confidentiality and safeguards the intellectual property rights of the authors.
