Dirassat Journal Economic Issue (DJEI) enforces a rigorous Conflicts of Interest (Competing Interests) Policy in full compliance with COPE Core Practices. Transparency regarding potential conflicts of interest is paramount to preserving the integrity, objectivity, and public trust in published academic research.
1. Definition & Scope of Conflicts
A conflict of interest arises when financial, personal, commercial, institutional, or academic relationships could inappropriately bias or influence actions, judgments, or decisions during research conduct, peer review, or editorial evaluation.
For Authors
Authors must disclose all funding sources, institutional affiliations, employment, consultancies, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research findings.
For Reviewers
Reviewers must decline reviewing manuscripts with known co-authors, academic collaborators, direct competitors, or family members to maintain impartial judgment.
For Editors & Staff
Editors and editorial board members must recuse themselves from managing or deciding on any manuscript where a personal or professional connection exists.
2. Manuscripts Submitted by Editorial Board Members
To ensure complete independence and prevent bias when members of the editorial team (including Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, or Advisory Board members) submit manuscripts:
3. Article Full-Text Declaration & Undisclosed Conflicts
Mandatory Full-Text Statement: Every published article must contain a visible section entitled "Declaration of Competing Interest" before the reference list. If no conflict exists, the standard statement must read: "The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper."
Undisclosed Conflicts: Allegations of undisclosed conflicts arising after submission or publication are investigated in strict adherence to COPE flowcharts. Confirmed violations result in a published correction (Erratum) or retraction.
