Abstract

This study aims to highlight the relationship between the non-hydrocarbon export sector and economic growth in Algeria during the period from 2000 to 2023. Employing a standard approach and utilizing the VAR model with EViews 12 software, the study concludes that theresi no significant relationship between non-hydrocarbon exports and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This indicates that non-hydrocarbon exports have not yet reached the necessary level to effectively contribute to economic growth, as hydrocarbon exports continue to dominate the export sector in Algeria. Consequently, the study recommends the need to enhance the productive sectors aimed at export promotion to boost non-hydrocarbon exports.
