Abstract

This study attempts to measure the impact of FDI inflows on the industrial sector in Algeria during the period 1970-2017, using the bounds test approach of Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL). The results of the econometric study indicate that there is a co-integration relationship between the industrial sector and foreign direct investment, but the magnitude of the influence in the long run was weak, where the increase of FDI inflows during one year by 1% leads to an increase in the raw added value of the industrial sector by 7, 06%. The study model indicates that in the short term the elasticity of this sector is low relative to the volume of domestic and foreign investments.
