Effects of TRIPS application on the pharmaceutical industry in the Arab world
Abstract
The World Trade Organization supervises more than 24 different agreements, the most important of which are: the Agreement on Agriculture, textiles and clothing, services, technical barriers to trade, government procurement, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, intellectual property rights (TRIPS) and other sectoral and non-sectoral agreements, in relation to a rights agreement Intellectual property (TRIPS) or (ADPIC) touches copyright, industrial or commercial marks, industrial designs, patents and others. As for patents, we find that they specifically affect what is related to public health and combating epidemics, including how to access the necessary drugs, since the protection has been extended to 20 years, which will inevitably have negative effects on the pharmaceutical industry in the Arab countries.Downloads
