Structure and functionality of the control authority for ‎the hydrocarbon sector in Algeria

Abstract

Algeria lived previously an economic system based on government's monopoly over the strategic sectors on top of which petroleum sector, however, the new orientation the country had known due to Prevailing circumstances and the different Crises inside and outside made the country leans towards adopting a free liberal system and free competition, relinquishing gradually its monopoly over the petroleum sector, and regarding the sensitivity of this sector to the Algerian economy it was kept under supervision establishing under law of petroleum 07/05 adjusted and completed under the order 11/06 a regulatory authority for petroleum sector as an independent body has its own orgonizitional, supervisional, Consultancy and Punitive duties.
