يهدف هذا البحث إلى استكشاف أسباب فشل الشركات الناشئة من خلال استعراض تقارير المؤسسين بعد الإغلاق، ولبلوغ ذلك تم اعتماد المنهج التحليلي، خلص البحث إلى أن الشركات الناشئة تفشل خلال السنوات الأولى بسبب جملة من العوامل والتحديات تتمثل في: تقديم منتج أو خدمة لا تحل مشكل في السوق، نفاذ المال وغياب التمويل، فريق عمل غير مناسب، المنافسة القوية، مشكل التكلفة والتسعير، نموذج عمل سيء، ضعف التسويق والاهتمام بالزبائن، مشاكل بين المؤسسين، تأخر مواكبة التكنولوجيا، قلة الخبرة والشغف، اختيار موقع جغرافي سيء، تحديات قانونية ، تأخر التمحور، التمحور الخاطئ، قلّة المثابرة.
